 SAMUN Awards
HMS LinC students participated in Southeast Alabama Model United Nations at Troy University on March 1st and 2nd. They excelled as they represented Belize & Nigeria. They brought home the following awards:
     2nd Best Dress (African Bloc)
     2nd Best Dress (Latin American Bloc)
     Best Overall Resolution  (Belize)
     3rd Place Best Resolution  (Nigeria)
     Overall 1st Place Flag (Nigeria)
     Best Latin American Flag (Belize)
     2nd Place Boy Delegate: Jacob Pearce!!

HMS celebrated Black History Month with a program written and performed by our students.  It included choreographed singing, skits, musical presentations, and interpretive readings.  Great job HMS!

District Science Fair
HMS took home many honors at the Wiregrass District Science Fair held on January 26th.  1st Place Engineering:  Ke'Ashia Tenille, Te'Ashia Tenille, and Shelby Barnette.  3rd Place Engineering:  Jacob Pearce.  3rd Place Physical Science:  Damariana Hall, Kendalyn Ledbetter, and Trinity Lifherd.  3rd Place Animal/Plant Science:  Kira Hardaway, Bristol Austin, and Caleb Baldwin. They will represent HMS and the Wiregrass at the Regional competition in Auburn.  Hooray for Team HMS, scientists of the future!!!

Team HMS at Education Showcase 2018
HMS Ambassabors, Sew Sensations, Leaders in Me, Best Robotics, LinC, and Award-winning Artwork entitled "Scarecrows in the Garden" by Mrs. Klatt's class were displayed and presented by Honeysuckle students at the annual Dothan City Schools' Education Showcase on January 25, 2018.

Tommy Tolleson Tolleson and Torrence
Thank you to Tommy Tolleson from Tolleson Construction. His business gave our boys' and girls' bathrooms a fresh coat of paint during December. What a blessing! On Jan. 24, he came to our STEM lab to talk to the students about construction.

 Basie Shine

We want to thank Basie Shine for coming to talk to our 8th grade boys on December 18.

Basie is a Dothan native and graduated from Northview High School. While at Northview, he participated in numerous activities such as JROTC, Future Business Leaders of America, and Honor Society. He was elected Student Government President his senior year. He will transfer to Auburn University in January to pursue a degree in Information Systems. Thank you Basie for giving back to your community and for being a positive impact on our student’s lives.
